City of Ketchum Housing Open House

City of Ketchum Housing Open House In-Person

The City of Ketchum is developing a Housing Action Plan to provide more affordable housing options in Ketchum and the surrounding area. The housing crisis and our path forward do not exist in a silo. Ketchum aims to ensure there is alignment, to the extent possible, across stakeholders and the community on the process and outcomes of the Action Plan. They are moving forward quickly to address the crisis and raise funding to initiate programs. One potential funding mechanism is the Local Option Tax (LOT), which cannot currently be used for housing. The team is exploring adding LOT adjustments to the May ballot.

The City is working with consultants Agnew::Beck and a Task Force comprised of a cross-section of community leaders, developers, retailers, non-profits, and community members. The team is wrapping up the context-setting phase where they defined what the problem is and what the housing needs are. They are now identifying which tools address the problem, meet needs, and are the most immediately actionable.
