History Half Hour: Sun Valley Resort In-Person
History Half Hours are a quick way to dive into history at the Wood River Museum of History + Culture.
The focus for these talks will be the history of the Sun Valley Resort - every week in July will be the same focus: how did the tiny town of Ketchum at the end of a Union Pacific spur railroad line become the place that the nation's first destination ski resort was born? In fewer than 11 months at the height of the Depression, the town of Ketchum went from a sheep shipping hub to a place where European nobles, Hollywood stars and starlets rubbed elbows with New York socialites in a brand-new resort in the Idaho 'wilderness'.
No registration required. Half Hour Histories start at noon inside the Wood River Museum.
