Memoir Writing Workshop with Tony Tekaroniake Evans In-Person
Come enjoy a supportive atmosphere in which we will explore the exquisite details of memory and the mysterious art of memoir. This engaging workshop will include goal-setting, voice development, in-class writing sessions, book-shelf journeys, and home writing assignments. This workshop is for all levels. We will learn from each other as we discuss the joys and challenges of writing memoir during six weeks of classes. The instructor will provide examples of character archetypes, Hero's Journey story cycles, and share lessons from his career. He will also present work (and ideas) from noted memoirists, including Mary Karr, Peter Mathiessen and Steve Martin. Participants are asked to bring works in progress or examples from their own favorite authors.
