PENDL's PASTRIES info: Gift yourself some Ketchum Holiday Classics--Nussknackers & Florentiners from Pendl's! (if you know, you know ... but if you don't know, Kitzbuheler Fred Pendl was THE original Austrian baker at what we now know as the Konditerei in Sun Valley, then opened his own bakery, Pendl's Pastries, in Ketchum in 1979. His daughter Martha re-kindled this legacy from 2003-2017 at her own Pendl's Bakery in Driggs. These treats are BONKERS good. (Read more about Pendl's history here) To inquire about pre-ordering, send an email to pendlsbakery@gmail.com. Quantities are limited! Click here to see a PDF of the prices and options from Pendl's. Rumor has it, Fred Pendl will be on-site during the market!
Did you know about the Austrian connections to Sun Valley? From the start of the resort, there's been a deep connection to Austria and specifically to Kitzbuhel, which is a ski area that hosts the famous Hahnenkamm downhill. The original Sun Valley ski instructors were almost all Austrian and they brought their food and culture with them. And ... Kitzbuhel and Sun Valley are sister cities!
The Wood River Museum will have a wide selection of laminated placemats featuring photos from the archives as well as new and vintage books, candles, postcards and more.
We'll serve hot cocoa and spiced cider.
