Join and Thrive: Why Community Engagement Matters

Join and Thrive: Why Community Engagement Matters In-Person

Inspired by Robert Putnam's book Bowling Alone and the subsequent documentary Join or Die, this panel discussion, in partnership with the Spur Community Foundation, explores the urgent need for civic connection in today's world — and how getting involved in your local community isn't just good for our community, it's good for your wellbeing.

Join local leaders, volunteers, and civic advocates as they discuss why social connections and civic engagement are vital to building a healthier, more engaged Blaine County. And most importantly, learn how to get involved. Panelists will include:

  • Ryan Redman, Flourish Foundation
  • Lynea Newcomer, The Hunger Coalition
  • Kaz Thea, Hailey City Council President
  • Lee Dabney, Hailey Public Library

Whether you're new to the area or a long-time resident looking to reconnect, this event is an opportunity to explore how small acts of participation — from joining a board to volunteering or even just paying attention — can lead to lasting, positive change.

Registration recommended to join us in person.
