Swiss Field Trip Information Session In-Person
Interested in The Community Library's Field Trip to Switzerland, but you've got questions?
Come by the Wood River Museum to talk to Kristine Bretall about it on Tuesday, April 8. The trip is planned for this September 8-17 and will be based in two ski towns, Stans and Lenzerheide. The trip will include visits to places not open to the public: family dairies that make cheese by hand every day of the summer, visits to farms and with chocolatiers.
Participants will also be able to hike, visit spas, and take incredible funicular and tram rides to some of the tallest peaks in the alps. In addition to the alp cheese and visits to the alps, dinner at a restaurant whose chef was named the top Swiss chef for 2024 and a cow descent (where the cows are decorated with flowers and come through towns on their way to the barns for winter) is included in this trip.
Swiss guide and cheese importer, Caroline Hostettler, has created this customized itinerary just for The Community Library and as a bonus for ski enthusiasts, Lenzerheide has hosted no fewer than 6 World Cup Skiing finals and Lara Gut-Behrami, Mikaela Shiffrin and Ted Ligety have all had outstanding results on their courses!
