Blaine County’s Housing Needs and the Impact of New Development

Blaine County’s Housing Needs and the Impact of New Development In-Person

Blaine County’s most recent Housing Needs Assessment was conducted in 2022, which describes the housing affordability gap and missing housing needs and services for current and future residents. The assessment was updated in 2023 to include preferences of those residents seeking housing, such as housing type and location, and unexpected barriers to housing. The Blaine County Housing Authority (BCHA) will present this report.

Matt Prosser from Economic & Planning Systems will follow this presentation with the findings from the recently published nexus study, which quantifies the impact of new commercial and market-rate development on employee generation and therefore additional demand for community housing.

The study, titled "New Development’s Impacts on Community Housing Demand in Blaine County, Idaho," was published with generous support from the Spur Community Foundation.
