2024 Audacious Read: MIDNIGHT’S CHILDREN by Salman Rushdie

For the fifth year, we invite readers to participate in a year-long Audacious Read – an opportunity to read a big book over an extended period of time with the support of fellow readers. This year, we will read Midnight’s Children by Salman Rushdie – an epic novel that follows the life of Saleem, who is born at midnight in 1947, at the exact moment that India gains its independence. As Saleem grows, his life is intertwined with the saga of the nation in extraordinary ways. This novel has been heralded as one of the most notable books of the past hundred years, and it won the “Best of the Booker” Prize.

Library executive director Jenny Emery Davidson will moderate the discussion, which is held VIRTUALLY via Zoom the first Tuesday of each month from 4 to 5 p.m. MT. The group does not meet in person. Please register in advance to receive the Zoom link and group updates. Contact Jenny with questions: jdavidson@comlib.org.
